This model is equipped with 23 special scene modes to make most familiar shooting situations even easier to get the settings just right.
The Olympus µ [mju:] 740 looks gorgeous and is available in a choice of colours, either Moonlight Silver, Twilight Blue and Sunset Red. Its gently tapered design makes it a treat to hold, but anyone thinking that its good looks are just skin deep should beware! Inside this beauty is a beast of a lens and a 7.1 million pixel CCD that together deliver razor-sharp photographs.
Achieving great results on the µ [mju:] 740 couldn’t be easier, as a choice of 23 special scene modes have been included to cover just about every common photo situation, including Beach & Snow, Fireworks, and Sports. Operating the µ [mju:] 740 is straightforward, but if you should ever need a reminder of what a particular function does, you can turn to the built-in Guide Function for help. This explains the cameras’ main functions directly on the LCD screen – a bit like having the instruction book built in!
Thanks to the BrightCapture Technology, framing and taking photos under low-light conditions is no longer a difficult affair, as its high contrast 6.4cm LCD screen is around 4x brighter than normal, making aiming the camera much easier. The same technology is also put to good use improving both photos and movie clips taken in low light. This makes capturing the true atmosphere of candlelit dinners, indoor parties, or other night scenes much easier – particularly with still photos, as you don't always need a flash.
An underwater case is available for the µ [mju:] 740 so that the camera can play a part in today’s more active lifestyles. The Olympus PT-034 Underwater Case will take it down to depths of 40m, so that even creatures of the deep won’t escape the gaze of that 5x zoom!
